I came home from work to find a car in a residential space opposite my house had been clamped. Closer inspection revealed no residents parking permit, 4 bald tyres and a tax disc which ran out in April.
At about 3.30am I was woken by the sound of an angry man outside the house making a phonecall in which he went on and on about his car being clamped and moaned about the big van which had been parked in the street. He then left. I don't think the car belongs to anyone in the street and that he probably parked thit there around 5.30 thinking he could pick it up much later as there would be no traffic wardens until the next morning. People often do this in our street.
Anyway ... since then he's not been back and the car is still clamped, still parked badly and there's no documentation on the windscreen to explain who has clamped it.
If I want to call someone about getting it removed who is most likely? the police? The DVLA?
I am pretty sure it's been clamped because of the tax issue but can't be sure.
