Ok, dp bought himself a new car. He got all the details in order to insure it and took out insurance online. He made a payment on his card and set up a direct debit. It said he would receive an email to print his receipt. So dp logged off of the site he was on, went to his emails and there wasn't one.
He now can't remember which company he insured himself with.
There is no dd showing on the bank account, no payment (as yet ) gone from his card!
BUT, is he insured?
He rang the police and asked them if he was insured and they wouldn't tell him due to the data protection act! He asked if they would tell him if he went to the station in person with photo id, they said no because of data protection act.
He has to go to work tomorrow and we are skint. What should we do? Reinsure it? Is there any way of finding out if he's insured?
