Stupid question alert but what do I do? Who do I inform?

Phone your tax office then send them a letter explaining your change in circumstances and the date of the change.

And make sure you stop paying SE NI by direct debit, if you are.

As Deirdre B said. But, you may have to contact the tax office repeatedly. I kept getting sent SE NI notices, despite having said in writing that I am no longer SE. It got quite funny in the end, because every time I sent them a letter, I included photocopies of my previous letters, AND a photocopy of my payslips. In the end there were 11 separate letters/payslips confirming again that i was no longer self employed. It was irritating, but it gave me peverse amusement to see how long it would take before they sorted their records.

I think the last one I wrote 'I refer to my correspondence on.., and ,..., and ... and ... for 11 times. ' I was very polite every time though.
