My husband and I are separating. I don't want this to happen, but he won't consider trying to work things out. I am finding it all incredibly difficult, but am trying to accept the situation as it stands.

We have 3 DC aged 12, 10 and 5. I havn't worked for 6 years and he is the sole wage-earner. Mortgage is in both our names.

We are currently still living in the same house. I am applying for any PT work, but realistically won't get anything until Jan or Feb. He has said he will look for somewhere to live in the New Year.

I am wondering whether I should move out and rent somewhere with the DCs once I manage to get work, or leave him to sort out somewhere to live. My main focus at the moment is holding myself together and making sure the DC are ok.

Any advice please?

please stay in the house with your 3 dc and if your dh doesn't have a change of mind let him make the move and into somewhere else.

Practicly how would you rent somewhere else without a wage? where wuld you get the deposit from?

Go and seek some legal advice and a lot of solicitors will let you havbe a half hour first free consultation - mind though as January is busy for divorce.

You can get some advice and then at least you will have some idea of where you stand if your dh still wants to seperate.

also use entitledto.com for some ideas of what you will receive in benifits if you are working part time
