Website problems

i have an e commerce website, my website is offline, dont know what is happenening.

I cannot reach the web designers as there emails come back unreturned and the phone number is not accepting calls

any one help, is ther anyone else I can get in touch with that can help me?

or put me in the right direction

who hosts the site?

are you getting the standard page cannot be found message?
Or is it that you need to pay for the domain name again? How long has it been up? About a year?

who are the web designers? They must hgave a website (you'd hope!)

rackspace host the site i think

the web designers page is stll online, I have submitted about 20 emails, no reply
phone number not accepting calls
the web designers including the first year hosting in with the charge

the domain name is valid till 2011

yep it is saying not found
also my db done a ping(as he calls it) and he said your site is offline
could it be the server?

oh dear sounds like your contract is with the designer and they organise the hosting? If they've gone bust you migt be able to get the files back and arrange hosting elsewhere?

was it ever online? if it was uploaded to the server, presumeably they aren't hosting it, and it is the server that is an issue not the developer.

chops, it sounds like the designer took care of the hosting, and as they're not contactable...still you're right, why would the site suddenly vanish??

yes the site was online from feb till about 5 days ago..it was up and running with paypal etc

the designers took care of all of it, i contacted rackspace and they were unhelpful
one good thing is I am registered with a local business link with a start up programme and get free legal advice for 2 years, she has given me an emergency appointment for Monday morning, she also wants to see whether my business insurance covers me for events like this..
