Enforcement Orders - do they affect your credit rating?

Had one issued in respect of bus lane offence notice which was sent to my old address 10 months and which I never received. Unknowingly the process has gone on until the tenant at my old address kindly forwarded me the latest correspondence informing me that bailiffs would be sent out (albeit that they would be going to the old address).

Of course I promptly paid the outstanding monies to the collection agents but am not sure of how the process would have worked (presume courts would have been involved in issuing order) and whether this will affect my hitherto intact credit rating.

Why don't you just do a credit check? It's not hard to get a free month's trail with Experian and check your credit file and see if there is anything on your record (just remember to cancel your subscription before your trial expires).

Even if you did have a CCJ awarded against you (arguably unlikely if you were still dealing with collection agents) you may be able to get it expunged from your record on the basis of prompt payment.

Thanks - will do the Experian trial. Have always seen them advertised but never thought to sign up.
