My silly OH was travelling to work the other day in his car, going through his usual route to get to work. He was rushing as he was late and there is no excuse for it, but he put his foot down on a dual carridge way and got lasered by a bobby standing at the side of the dual carrigeway. Does anyone know what happens when you get lasered by them? Do you go to court or get points, fined or banned?

you will get a letter in the next 2 weeks of how fast he was going at what time and where!!

I think it depends on how fast he was going and what the limit in the area was, as to whether he gets an automatic fine and points or a coart appearance.

does he already have points on his licence?

the lasers don't always pick up the reg details,depends if they got recorded

he has'nt got any points on his license, but he was going fast, he told me he was doing 80 in a 40mph zone.

I think on reading this it looks likely he may get a summons if he was caught, as he was over 66 in a 40.
