Cohabitation Agreement

Who has a cohabitation agreement. Why did you get one? How has it been received by OH? How much did it cost?
I am in Scotland. Background is purchasing a home with partner. Unequal equity split in my favour. No mortgage will be required. Which for him will be a benefit. For me it will be same as.
I have 2 children and the equity in the home is their inheritance in my will to go to them.
he has no children. An elderly mother and sisters that I don’t think he would want his estate to pass to.
How do I respectfully structure a cohabitation agreement that protects the kids in my death and us all if we seperate. Partner highly understanding that my part is the kids inheritance.
I was thinking of adding him to my death in service/ pension beneficiary as he has me on his.
I also need confirmation from him that if he dies the house comes to me so that the kids have a home.
It’s such a hard topic to navigate. I come into the relationship with more finance than he does but he is set to benefit now on having increased disposable income which I hope he invests well to have his own pot of money.
Love you hear experiences and opinions.
any hints and tips pls
it’s taken me a long time to trust again having being burnt in marriage.

Pension beneficiary form, Wills and cohabitation agreement are all separate things. POA equivalent too.

How old are the kids and who will be their guardian if you die before they are 18? Where will your partner live if you predecease him? Would you want to allow him to continue living in the house for a set period of time?

You will need a solicitor for this, but think through different scenarios first.

You need a STEP solicitor who can draw up a will to make sure your children maintain their inheritance. I have a life rent trust in mine. Husband can live in house for 5 years though I am going to change it until he dies. If I go first then if he downsizes the balance goes to my children. I'm 63 husband 67. We've been together 8 years. Married 4.
I'm in Scotland so can't disinherit children or husband totally.
