Will an LPA Power of Attorney be rejected if middle names were omitted?

Just completed two LPA online and confirmed, paid and printed them and then to my horror I’ve realised I’ve omitted the middle names of the donor, attorney and replacement attorney!

Will this likely be rejected? I can’t believe I’ve done it. Those sections said first names but the witnesses boxes stated full names so I just didn’t think and interpreted it wrong. It’s so confusing.

No they won’t reject it - they don’t know what someone’s full name should be! They don’t check things like that, DOB, etc, just that things like have the pages been signed in the correct order and dated correctly.

They wouldn’t know someone’s full name as they have no ID to compare against.

Where you will likely have the issue is with actually using the LPA. Institutions expect the documents to exactly match so will likely question the missing details. Perhaps some will accept the explanation but you may have problems with others.

you could possibly call the OPG and explain and see if they would allow you to resubmit them, but I doubt they would do so without you paying again.

its possibly worth risking trying to use them when they come and see if people notice or take issue!
