Dose anyone know what would happen to someone who missed appearing in court when charged with affray where a knife was involved?

main attacker received 8 years custodial for assaulting someone with a knife, but 2nd person who didn’t attack and was charged with affray skipped the hearing and a warrant issued for arrest.

Relevant details or non relevant in legal sense possibly:
Non attacker (late 20s) was main drug dealer and attacker was one of his sellers although unsure of any criminal charges in this area.
Very doubtful a genuine reason for skipping court but family would lie for him.
Parents live in Spain (flight risk and has somewhere to hide).
At least 2 other attacks being investigated but hasn’t been charged yet.

im just curious what’s the likelihood that the one who skipped court would get a custodial sentence purely on the affray charge and skipping court.

It depends on the nature of the affray and previous convictions. He will be arrested on the warrant and taken to Court in custody. If he pleads guilty he will be sentenced, if he pleads not guilty a trial will be arranged.
if he’s sentenced to less than 12 months in custody, his sentence will most likely be suspended.
He should hand himself into the police on the warrant so that he can be dealt with.

Agree with the above, once there's a warrant he'll be picked up and produced from custody, and skipping court makes bail much harder to get after that so he's likely looking at remand until the case is dealt with.
