First hearing, cafcass were ordered to carry out a s7 report however the judge ordered a change and that social services were then ordered to due to them being involved with the family. By being involved, it was merely a phone call and me reporting all concerns, nothing more. Social services then refused to carry out the s7 report due to not having an open case with me or the father, however none of this information landed on the judges desk until the day before the hearing so obviously a s7 report was not carried out. Me and both legal terms were also not aware that it had been changed to social services doing the s7 report from cafcass. It was all a complete mix up. Judges have gone ahead and ordered for cafcass to do the report again however in the mean time have also ordered contact between child and absuive father. The judge made a very spiteful comment regarding why father couldn’t go to my mums house to see child and so child can see other sibling who lives with the father and I stated because he was abusive towards my mum also. Judge then said “So your mum can’t tolerate this then? And are you saying that your mum can’t protect the children?”. Is this normal? All abuse has been completely overlooked. Feel like I’ve given up.

I’m sorry, that is a really difficult situation. How hard for you. Was he abusive towards you or both you and the children? Unfortunately, it is likely their dad will be able to continue contact with them if he wasn’t abusive towards them and ‘only’ towards you.
