Property title transfer query

Hi,

Posting on behalf of my sister. She and her husband live in a property which is currently in his sole name. It is actually a house with an annexe, although I understand it's one parcel of property.

They want to change ownership so that they both hold as tenants in common. They are being told different things about whether it is a transfer needing a TP1 or a TR1 form, with significantly different costs to carry it out.

Can anybody advise please?

TP1 is the form for transferring part of a property, e.g. if her husband wanted to transfer part of the garden into her name. To transfer the whole property into joint ownership they need form TR1.
