Specific issue order - relocation abroad

I'm RP considering relocation abroad with my child for the following reasons

  1. To be closer to family: my siblings and family live in this country and will be a significant support system for my child. I have no family or support network here neither does NRP and I fear that if something were to happen to me, my child will be alone or sent to foster home
  2. Employment: I have recently secured a job in this country which will put us in better financial situation that will support my child's hobby and provide good quality of life
  3. Childcare: I bear the cost and physical responsibility of childcare alone as child lives with me full time
  4. Education: This move will afford my child an opportunity to be educated in French immersion school and adopt multiple languages

NRP is not present in child's life and has gone completely no contact(his choice) but pays minimum child maintenance. I believe NRP share their time between this country and another as may likely have another family over there. I have sent consent forms to other parent but haven't got a reply yet.

Given my situation, how likely is the court going to grant a specific issue order to move? How long does it typically take for SIO and lastly what's the estimated cost?

I’ve just made my own post about relocation. I’m in the same boat as you. So nervous but also very excited. Your case is abit similar to mine, I’m moving to Northern Europe. Father has not see the children for over a year, he is English and has no family in England, both parents deceased. I also have no family here. If you wanna talk just pm me :)
