Parking fine - appeal?

Sorry if this doesn’t strictly belong in legal!

We booked and used airport valet parking over Christmas. The instructions were very specific about dropping off and picking up specified times in the designated terminal drop off area which has a £10 charge for using it. The paperwork states clearly that the drop off fees are included but the timing had to be exact to reduce time in the drop off zone. We timed it perfectly! I was quite proud - we arrived, got out, the guy from the parking company got straight in and drove off. Vice versa on the way back.

Anyway, today we’ve had two x £100 PCNs from NCP for using the drop off zone without paying both on the way out and the way home. Grrr. It’s definitely our car, not the parking company’s van.

This feels really unfair. We were told the fees were all covered. We had no reason to think any different. We paid for our week’s parking. So we will appeal. But I’m not hopeful, it was all booked through one of these 3rd party holiday extra sites so not through NCP and I can’t imagine the 3rd party site agreeing to pay the fine.

Any suggestions?

Contact the third party first and explain the situation, you never know there may have been some administrative cock up at their end and they sort it out for you

If you appeal directly to NCP they will more than likely just say the issue is between you and third party and they have correctly issued the fine so it needs paying.
