Fault mobile phone return

Hi,
I bought a £200 mobile phone 12 days ago from Tesco mobile (in store).
I have kept the receipt but chucked away the box.

Anyway, it is faulty and keeps dropping connection, then doesn't recognise or read the SIM. Only a hard reset fixes it for a few hours and then it happens again.

The Tesco mobile shop manager is adamant that because I don't have the box that she can't refund me. I have called Tesco customer service and they have emailed to tell her that I need a refund due to the consumer rights act but the shop manager still won't refund me because she says it is policy to not refund or exchange without the original packaging.

Where do I stand and what can I do? Chat GPT is also sure I am due a refund

You are eligible. Call them again the can send you a box for return. Or ask to speak to the area manager. Your consumer rights are not effected. Alternatively emai the ceo [email protected] explain what's happening. Prob resolved in 24 hours

Thank you so much, I will email.

The mobile phone shop questioned my intelligence infront of a whole queue of customers and was beyond rude. She refused to look at the consumer rights act!
