URGENT re IQ student accommodation

Have looked through tenancy agreement. If you leave in 1st month you can transfer tenancy if you can find someone to take it on (small fee). No mention of breaking contract due to health issues meaning withdrawal ftom Uni (letter from GP would be provided). Manager of room just says: 'write to HQ if needed'. Does anyone have experience ?
In Scotland, student has pre-existing health issues, v nervous about completing tenancy form.
Grateful for any advice.

Isn’t that standard? Is IQ a private halls provider?

siliconcover · 06/09/2025 14:06

@Remingtonsteele Yes private (also Uni have some rooms but defer to private) Nothing on contract at all. Manager says 'OK if medical evidence/withdrawing from Uni not if change mind'. I'd rather have it in writing but OK.

Personally I'd want confirmation in writing rather than taking a random person's word for it.

Do what he says and write to HQ.
