I am a member of the NY Bar and I have worked in the UK for 15 years: first in Magic Circle (disputes/Investigations), then doing enforcement investigations for a UK regulator, and now in house at a bank.
Is there any serious benefit to getting UK qualified? I may be able to swing studying and taking it in January, but with the cost of loads of stress and the risk of failing. On the plus side, I would only have to take the SQE1 exam. Just don't know if it's worth it for someone with my profile.
For context, I am very tired of my current role, and my job title doesn't accurately describe what I am actually doing or my capabilities. I feel that I should be working my way up a bit more in my career to demonstrate competence and protect against future age discrimination.
