Co- owner nightmare

Hi I’m hoping someone can help me please.
I am the co-owner of a business my partner wants to leave the business and we’re having a bit of a disagreement. We both took out a loan in the business name and he’s wanting me to be left with that which I haven’t agreed to as it turned out he had been taking money from the business without me knowing. Because there’s been no agreement he’s entered the property and took out computer which is critical to our business, we need it to operate. The computer is in the business name and I’ve contacted the police but because he’s co owner there’s nothing they can do. I’m looking to see if there’s any laws against him taking it as it holds clients personal information is there al law against that?

Is the business a limited company or a partnership?

It's a business. Unless you stop trying to get legal advice from random unknowns online and start paying for proper (and expensive) litigation advice from a corporate law expert I fear for your financial health.

This can get very expensive very quickly, and there are no shortcuts.

Try a letter advising him if he fails to return the computer you will hold him financially responsible for any financial losses incurred due to the business being unable to function without the computer.

If it isn't a ltd company or llp he will also be liable for the loan. You need to discuss this with him in an adult way without emotion. Is there someone who can get together with both of you to mediate? It will be the cheapest way.
