Have I a leg to stand on? I stupidly thought I'd be okay as not on road.

• Yellow lines are used to prevent obstructive and dangerous parking, improve traffic flow, enhance road safety, and ensure access for emergency vehicles.

• Pavements and Verges:
• Waiting restrictions indicated by yellow lines apply to the road, pavement, and verge, meaning you cannot park on the pavement or verge where yellow lines are present.

Before paying anything, read it carefully, look at it closely, and identify if it's a genuine ticket because there aren't that many parking wardens roaming the countryside waiting to leap out on people.

There are in tourist hotspots. Were you in Eryri? Or any national park tbh, they're all quite hot on visitors parking badly.

No leg to stand on. There are yellow lines, it's not just a random patch of scrubland.

There are, though. Like a PP said, definitely in a tourist hotspot/national park.

By your logic, is it OK to park on double yellows as long as it you don’t park on the road side of the lines?

Because if that’s the logic you were using do you also park on the pavement in town on roads with double yellows?
