Claiming for minor damage to another vehicle while using a hire car

Does anyone have experience of this? I scraped another car while parking on holiday, causing very minor damage to their paintwork and none at all to my hire car. We swapped details and I have a photo of the scratch.

I need to take the hire car back tomorrow and on reading the standard insurance cover details there doesn’t seem to be anything about covering damage done by the hire car to another vehicle - it is all about covering the costs of damage to the hire car. To complicate things more, I also have excess cover with a different company which is supposed to cover the standard (very large) excess you get when you hire a car. Again, all the language in that policy is focused on damage to the hire car.

I feel I’m being a bit dense here - interested in anyone who has been in this or a similar situation? I have not had the insurance details back from the other driver yet but will contact her tonight.
