I am installing a new kitchen at a property I rent out, while the work is completed the tenants won’t be able to use the kitchen. Obviously if this was at my own house I would just cope with using a microwave/ take away etc during this time. Where do i stand with tenants having no kitchen facilities.

They are paying you for a house with kitchen facilities, so it would probably be a good idea to pay them a sum of compensation that matches the cost of take away meals, eating out, etc

Would 1/2 rent for a month be acceptable? I don’t charge them close to ‘market value’ they have been with me a while and I have kept the rent low.

Sounds very reasonable to me maybe a bit less tbh
