REMO - lost my forms

Hi all

I submitted REMO documents for my son to get financial support off his "Dad" in Australia (we are in the UK) in September last year.
I have waited months and months and finally had a court date last week however, the morning of they didn't tell me the time it was going to start until 15 minutes before which was fine thankfully as I was organised for it but when I tried to log in they had given me the incorrect password, they sent over another one rather quickly (this was all happening 5 minutes before the hearing was due to start) anyway they sent three incorrect passwords until I finally got the correct one however I was ten minutes late for the appointment. I waited online in the lobby for around 4 hours before I thought surely the other hearings haven't overran this much? So I got in touch and they said that usually that doesn't happen. They then emailed back to say they've asked someone from the court to contact me then they sent an email saying they'd be in touch when they manage to book a new court hearing.

I have just received a letter from them this morning saying sorry but we have lost your documents you have to start again!
I feel devastated and don't think it's excusable. How was I meant to attend court last week if they apparently had lost the documents?!
My son is missing out on several months of backdated child support now too. Meanwhile his Dad is over there on constant holidays and brags about how much money he has etc I just feel so sad for my son.

I give my son the best life I possibly can, I provide everything I can for him and his sibling but I hoped I'd be able to secure this for him so he would have money for his future, to continue his education, learn how to drive etc.

Does anyone have any advice? Is there anything I can do to have them amend it and at least backdate from the date I sent the original forms, I have proof of recorded mail and who signed for it etc. I know they need to have the physical forms with my signatures but I don't understand why it's back to square one, there has been no progress whatsoever since September last year I genuinely thought it would be getting finalised by now.

Just wondered if anyone knew anything I can say to them, who I should speak to, can I request it's investigated?
Is there anything I can do to appeal this?

Thanks in advanced for your help

Any success stories would be so nice to hear right now too! Xx

although there is international access to this website, mostly on here were are UK and the legal advice will be mostly UK. You might get better faster help by looking for legal advice specifically for the Oz legal system.

OP is in the UK and her problem is with the UK courts. Her ex is in Australia but that is irrelevant to OP's problem, which is that the UK courts seem to have lost her paperwork.

@PurryPurryMaowMaow - You need to complain to HMCTS.

sorry I assumed that it was the Australian end that had lost the documents.

Thank you both for coming back to me.

Sadly I haven't even gotten close to the stage where they send the documents over to Australia and now I'm even further from it. I honestly feel so deflated by it.

I'll take a look into the tribunal court services, thank you. I wasn't sure where to start with it so this is perfect. I really appreciate it.

Thank you both again.
Have yous ever done the documents before? Honestly the whole process of it is just soul destroying!
