paid more than nmw then not

5 years ago my employer said he would give us all a raise.
10p more than the nmw
so every year when the nmw went up we got 10p extra per hour
but this year he as paid us the nmw
does he still have to honour the raise he promised us

Unless you have it in a contract that your pay rate will track NMW+10p your employer is not obligated to offer any increase beyond the legal requirement to pay NMW.
