Moving dad in

If I move n dad in with me, and add him to tenancy. Does it affect my uc claim? Do I lose my single persons discount on council tax? Thank you

Asked my lawyer husband , benefits expert. Does not matter if he is on the tenancy agreement. It will affect the housing element of your UC claim. Also as you would not be a single person household you would lose the council tax discount.

But if he has dementia or some other severe mental impairment it would not as he would be exempt.
