Changing from joint tenants to tenants common

Can anyone tell me, if I send in Form SEV to land registry to sever joint tenants agreement on a house, does this automatically mean the two owners become tenants in common, or is there another step that needs to happen? Thanks.

You should have given the other owner(s) notice of your intention. Provided you have done so, there are no further steps once you send in the form.
