Life insurance query

Hi all, I'm looking for a bit of advice, please.
My dad had 2 life insurance policies but cancelled them 2.5 weeks prior to his death. Does the cover stop immediately, or would his last payment 2.5 weeks before he passed cover him just after his death as he paid for that last payment? I hope this makes sense.

You'll need to ask the insurer - it will depend on when his payment date was vs what day in the month the cover began (i.e was he paying in arrears in which case he might still owe a premium to cover the date he died). The insurer i worked for would give 30 days grace from the first missed premium and would just deduct the owed premium from the claim value.

Even if technically not covered we would consider extenuating circumstances like if someone was very unwell before their death, cognitively impaired, in hospital etc.

Sorry your loss, I hope the insurer is able to help
