Mid market rent income threshold

Hi everyone,

I recently moved into a mid market rental property in Scotland with Lowther Homes, I have a private residential tenancy agreement. It may be time for my partner to move in with me however, I am worried that I will lose my flat if I ask Lowther since if he moves in our combined income would be over the maximum threshold? Do they monitor his income if it’s my tenancy agreement?

Thanks

You’ll need to advise them of the change and obtain their permission. “Recently” moving into a property which you only qualified for because you have a low income and then quickly moving in a partner who would have disqualified you for the tenancy does look a bit suspect, but it may be that he’s allowed as a permitted occupier but not to join the tenancy.
