Solicitor drafting contract - has spelling mistakes

Is it normal for solicitors to send over draft documents they be been paid to prepare with typos/spelling mistakes? My BiL has asked me to proofread new contracts he's got back from his solicitor which he paid them to draft as they have typos in. I don't mind doing it, but is it normal practice? I would have expected them to proofread their own work...

When we bought our current house, DH and I both went through the contracts with a fine tooth comb after I spotted a couple of glaring errors. We used a local solicitor recommended by the Estate Agent but in our previous house purchase we used a Licensed Conveyancer who was excellent and really on the ball.

Should phone and request a call from the partner. This happened to me when drafting parents will. Glaring errors including names and postcodes -shocking. I complained and partner phoned back to apologise and sort it. We we're also given a large discount.

Thank you, yeah he's really pissed off. I'll proofread the docs and tell him to complain.

Lots of lazy shit solicitors about.

The problem here is the spelling mistakes are the ones you have spotted. What else is lurking waiting to emerge ?
