So basically my brother and his girlfriend fell pregnant both being on cannabis and mental health problems. They were told by social workers to get off the cannabis and work with them.
anyway they have engaged a little bit sadly not enough to the social worker’s expectations. They had a meeting for a care plan and it was put forward that me and my mother could be out to look after the baby if their parents couldn’t.
so all the medical checks and the police check and the viability checks and also a house check has been done on myself. The viability assessment was done on Monday afternoon but there was a court order for an emergency protection order for the baby which was granted. Also a care order is in place for the baby.
he has now been placed into temporary foster care until the checks are completed. How long do the checks take to clear? How can I get this moved along faster? Anymore advice would be greatly appreciated I do not want my nephew being with a stranger when I’m in a position to look after and care for him for as long as I need to. I just want him home with his family any help/advice would be great!
