Can I Get More Information about a Crime?

There was a murder very close to my home and I have been quite unsettled about it. I know most of the details but I feel like I need to know more. I think about these questions and try to work them out in my head. I feel like I won't get "closure" until I know all the details of what occurred.
Please forgive me if I sound sadistic.
Am I able to legally access the details anywhere? The case is going to trial but I imagine that will take ages. Will the details be available after that?

No, you'll need to wait for any news reporting from the trial. The police or CPS don't just give out information willy nilly which could jeopardise the chance of conviction.

I don't think you sound sadistic and I'm sure alot of people share the same morbid curiosity about crime - particularly local to them - but remember this is someone's family member and friend who has been killed. Imagine how you would feel if random members of the public were wanting to know detailed information they themselves might not he aware of yet.

Thank you for your reply. I guess I will have to wait. Hopefully I will feel better about it by then anyway.

The court will keep a record of proceedings. You'd have to visit in person to request to see it, but it should be available very shortly after the conclusion of the trial, usually within a day or two.
