Hi I have a claim against me. I hired a debt collector to recover a debt. We are in dispute. 23 weeks after the contract expired, and 3 months after he commenced litigation against me, he has tried to elicit monies from my debtor. So no contract, going to court and he tries to get money from my debtor as well. Can he do this or is there a point of law which says he can't. I am representing myself but can't find an answer to this. If anyone can help.

Your post is unclear.

My guess is you are saying you hired someone to collect a debt for you. Are they lawyers?
You then got in to a dispute with them - they claim you owed them money and have issued proceedings against you.
You then seem to be saying that they are still pursuing your debtors on your behalf.

Have I understood that correctly?

Yes that's correct - they were debt collectors not lawyers and led me a merry dance. I disputed their high fee for lack of service and they took me to court for the commission for the full amount of debt. i am on top of that but since they made the claim they have 'threatened' the debtor to try to obtain the money owed to me from him without there being a contract between us and 3 months after they made a claim against me

They are not pursuing the debtor on my behalf . Their contract finished a long time ago. I think they are fishing to see if he has paid me and trying their luck if not to get the money, Sorry it's hard to write clearly, I think fishing to try to use if he has paid me for the court hearing so that they can say it's a direct result of their endeavours. which he hasn't
