Accepted offer on my house in May
Survey was done in June
Papers sent for signing in July
we have now got more questions from their solicitor to answer.
We don’t know what is going on.
12 weeks on Friday and it seems that nothing is being done.
Contacted EA but no replies, she is on holiday !!!
Contacted Solicitor and she has said “just answer all questions, she is going on leave next week.
One of the questions is — how many people in the street has a mortgage?
ridiculous question.
And to sum it up my buyers are meant to be cash buyers.
We are pulling our hair out, need advice
thank you

Some buyers are morons and ask stupid questions.

Your solicitor should not have even passed that enquiry to you as it is not anything to do with ensuring a good title for the buyer so therefore out of the scope of conveyancing.

My favourite one for me was asking if the new build development a mile away will prevent the purchasers from enjoying being in the property. My reply was - I have no idea as enjoyment is a subjective thing. I was expecting a snarky follow up but it was left.

To be fair they also wanted planning permission and building control sign off for the windows 'we installed' even after I sent the builders plans for the house (new build estate). I guess someone eventually relented as that line of questioning stopped
