Sueing parent for abuse

Has anyone sued/in some way taken their parent to court for abuse/neglect?

My father has traumatised me, during childhood and as an adult.
I cannot prove any physical abuse, but his emotional neglect and tyrannical behaviour is certain.

Would I have some sort of case?
I feel like I can't move on.
Thanks!

That'll be a hard one to pursue.

Needs proper legal advice.

Is there a charity dealing with emotional abuse etc that could point out a way for you?

Honestly I'm afraid you're on a hiding to nothing there. It's not a criminal offence and would be impossible to prove in a civil court anyway.
Spend the money on therapy instead to recover .

I think you'd struggle significantly with emotional abuse. Potentially neglect but even that v hard to prove.

In short - no.
