Employee Car allowance - maternity/paternity leave

Hi,

I am looking for some advice regarding car allowance. I am currently on maternity leave and my employer has decided to stop my car allowance payment. I am aware that since this is not a benefit they legally don't have to pay it while on maternity leave. I have however discovered that car allowance is still paid to employees on paternity leave and to those off on long term sickness so this feels like discrimination to me? Are there are employment lawyers who could offer any advice on this? Thanks!

I know this is an old post but I'm in a similar situation and wondered if you got anywhere with it? My other argument is that they calculate bonuses based on basic salary as they say car allowance is a benefit, but when it comes to mat leave they day it's not a benefit it's salary! Also the issue of them paying to men on pat leave. My
