Hello, I have a non compete clause in my employment contract which covers the company I work for 'and group companies' (my employer owns several businesses under her directorship - at the point of signing these companies were all in the same sector). 3 years after joining she bought another company, which I don't work for or with and which is in a different sector. So I work for company A, and let's say this is company B. I now have a job interview with a competitor of company B. I think that the non-compete would not apply as it is too broad - different sector, I don't work with it so no access to sensitive info etc. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
