We signed an engagement letter last week to put a property on the market do you know if you get a 14 day cooling off period on this?

Do you have any paperwork with their T’s &C’s? It should be on their paperwork, but Google suggests there should be.

there a cooling-off period with estate agents?

Is there a cooling off period? It is standard for an estate agent's contract to include a 14 day cooling-off period. During this time, a seller can change their mind about instructing the estate agent to sell their property without incurring a penalty

Did you sign it in person in their office or sign and return by post?

It depends on the contract. Most include a 14-day cooling off period so it is likely that you can cancel without penalty unless either their contract does not include such a provision, or you signed something waiving your right to the cooling off period.

Doesn't mention anything about the cooling off period on the letter. It was signed online and automatically returned.
You can pay £300 worst case scenario to remove it from the market but it's not even at that stage yet they have been so slow to act and in the meantime someone has approached us privately to buy.

When we engaged an EA they specifically asked if we wanted to waive the cooling off period and market immediately and we had to sign and agree before they took photos etc.

Have they taken photos or sent you advert text to approve yet?

There is a 14 day cooling off period for contracts entered in to online.
