Harley Medical Group ceased trading

Hi,

I was due to have surgery in August to fix issues with my broken nose. I booked through Harley Medical Group, but have found out today that they have ceased trading. I am absolutely devastated! I broke my nose as a teenager, and I’m in my 30s now. It’s taken me a long time to decide to have the surgery after years of being self-conscious, and now it’s looking like I will loose over £8000. I have spoken to the surgeon’s P.A today, as he also runs his own private clinic. She has basically said all I can do is contact my bank, as my surgery was due to be performed in a Harley Medical Group hospital and this is now closed. Any surgery I have done with him through his own clinic would need to be paid for again, as well as new consultations which would be at a cost.

What are my chances of getting my money back, and what is the process I need to follow? I’d be so grateful for any advice. Thank you in advance. 🙂

I paid by debit card unfortunately!

Ok, speak to bank, you aren’t covered by consumer credit act, when paying by debit card unfortunately, but the bank can sometimes reverse a payment.

After a previous bad experience, for all large purchases I always pay by credit card or take a finance option just to offer me more protection.

I hope you get your money back OP, keep onto them.

Thank you, will definitely take your advice about using a credit card in the future! Don’t want to risk this ever happening again. Fingers crossed the bank can reverse the payment!
