Financial consent order - Changes after approval

Going through divorce and court approving our settlement. When we made our agreement, we completed the known numbers on the ES2 and calculated it based on that.

Our agreement is he will receive a fixed amount from the sale of the property and I will get the balance.

What happens if the final numbers are different to the ES2?

For example, we estimated certain amounts such as legal fees.

What happens if the amount paid is less than our estimate? Will I have to give some to him? Or because we’ve agreed he will get a fixed amount, it doesn’t matter what the balance is?

Help!

Once the consent order is final, that's it. It cannot be changed unless something major happens that undermines the basis on which the order was made. Legal fees being different to the estimate are nowhere near enough to re-open the order. If the order gives him a fixed amount, that is what he will get. No more, no less.
