Simple procedure question….Scotland

Hi hoping someone maybe has some advice. I went through the simple procedure in Scotland against a Ltd company trades person who did a complete botch job that wasn’t even required to fix the issue on my property. The issues only became apparent once I had paid the invoice, in hindsight I can see why he was harassing me to pay quick. Anyway, I went through all possible means to get my money back and had to resort in the end to the simple procedure. This particular issues have cost me thousands to repair so ok already well out of pocket. I even offered to just accept half the money I paid him as a refund but he wouldn’t budge.

The company in question ignored all paperwork from the court so in the end I was awarded the decree for full amount plus expenses coming to just over 4K.

They have 28 days to appeal after which I understand I can pay yet more money to have the decision enforced by a sheriff officer….however as I understand it not even that can result in any payment.

just wondered if anyone else had got to this stage when using simple procedure and did enforcing the decision even work?? It seems he doesn’t care at all.

so frustrating and annoying. Any advice welcome!!
