Do beneficiaries and executors of a will need to give their national insurance number to a solicitor?Tia.

I suspect it's to do with the very stiff requirements placed on Solicitors to know their client and ensure nobody is laundering money.

Yes. HMRC will ask for executors' NI numbers and sometimes beneficiaries'. Solicitors also have to take rigorous steps to identify beneficiaries before paying out to them.
