New Assured Tenancy Agreement

Hi I need a bit of advice. My partner and I are renting a flat in London and we are in process of buying a house. Our assured tenancy agreement ended 29 April 2024. We have been notified end of last year that landlord wants to increase the rent from May 2024 and we agreed to the amount we paid already for May and June. They also said they will draw new assured tenancy agreement for another year starting 1st of May 2024 which we haven’t received until today. My question is can we still stay on periodic tenancy due to no new tenancy agreement has been sent for over a month? Do we need to still sign it after it arrived over a month late? We are now not keen on signing it due to move to our property hopefully in max 2 months time. Many thanks in advance for your replies.

Assured or Assured Shorthold?

It doesn’t actually specify but it is fixed term for a period of 1 year starting 1 May 2024
