Child maintenance

just wondering if anyone has been in the situation and what the outcome was. I opened a Child maintenance claim two months ago and chose to do collect and pay as I know he wouldn’t pay if was direct debit between us. I spoke with them Friday as had no progression in the case and basically because they cannot find an address for him they will keep trying for another four months before closing the case?? My children’s father drives a heavy goods vehicle for a living. I told them he has his mail going to his cousins but because he doesn’t actually live there they can’t apparently send a letter there. He lives 5 hours away from me and the children at his girlfriends who he moved into two weeks after we split but that’s a different story but I don’t think they will register him living there due to her being on some sort of benefit. (She doesn’t work and has two children) plus he stays in the work vehicle 4 nights a week . Apparently they have to send a letter before they can further progress anything. They’ll be able to tell from hmrc that’s he’s working and has a good earning. I don’t know if there is anything else I can or if anyone has been here before or what the outcome was.
thanks!

Hi, did you ever get that sorted? One of my friends is in a very similar situation, "father" of a child point blank refused to pay, she doesn't know his address, CMS can't do anything. He is working on a payroll but apparently CMS can't obtain his address ?
I really want to help her, it's not even about the money as she will probably get pennies but it's about the principle ! Even if it's £5....
