Insurance query re pet

I haven't had pet insurance before and this is the first claim I have made. It is for £1400 which is a significant amount for me and I can't afford to pay it.

Now the insurance company have come back saying that the birth date provided is different to the one the vet has on record. Quite honestly both dates i gave would have been estimates as the cat was a rescue. But it seems I've put a date 7 months different.

they have stated i need to tell the vet to change the date to the correct one if there one is correct or vice versa.

does anyone know of either of these options will make the insurance invalid?

is it better to say the vet one was wrong or the insurance one?

I'm just quite paranoid about them refusing to pay for this reason!

i’m guessing insurance is younger?

0tterintheriver · 02/05/2024 16:18

Yes it is. I didn't do it on purpose. We got two cats and one was said to be about six months older than the other. I may have pout them the wrong way around. But we got them age 2 or 3
