Solicitor not responding

Does anyone know how I can swap solicitors?

I approached one who refused, I think because I'm actually clear as mud what the issue is from my own solicitors so I can't explain what the problem is

All i know is mine is not responding and I'm on a time limit

Ive asked for a summary of a phone call they had with me. Because I didn't understand

And 9 days on and much chasing... I'm still waiting

I'm a victim btw

Not an offender

I don’t imagine moving solicitors will make the process any quicker

can you escalate with someone else in the firm?

changeofusername · 26/04/2024 14:43

Nope, he's head of the dept

It does take time to transcribe and send out notes and it all depends on your situation as to how straight forward your case is.
I would say the more you chase the more it delays as your attention is dragged away to focus on a chaser.
Did you make your time limit clear and if so did they actually agree to it/say it was reasonable?

Not really, I received attendance notes from an hour long meeting 4 hours after it ended.

OP, is he ignoring your request completely or fobbing you off? Are you phoning or emailing?

The time limit is very clear and always has been

My thinking time is ticking down

They've verbally stated something that they've not yet put in writing to me, that I don't understand... there's an issue. What the issue is ... I'm not sure and asked for a summary

I was told I'd be responded to by early this week- it's Friday... nothing

Both phone and email. Calls not answered

Emails just say still waiting for another dept (their own) but even those responses... stopped

This is a bit confusing, can you elaborate a little?

I would try another firm or two, but try and keep it simple. Explain you already have representation but you want to change because they've stopped responding to you and you're on a tight deadline. Don't complicate your summary of the case details with stuff your current solicitors have said which has confused you, just stick to the case itself.

It IS confusing. I'm so confused

But I'm not sure how I get anyone to take it on while I don't understand myself... to swap

Because who I approached asked me to explain... and I can't really, I'm clueless
