How long after application for residency order will I hear something ?

Hi, my solicitor has sent off my application for me for a residency order for my 5 month DD.
she sent it on Friday there, how long will it take before I hear something ? Do I need to go to court for a hearing or can they just accept the order ?
DD dad has got a solicitor and they threatened court and want joint residency which me and my solicitor know is definitely not in the best interest of dd , dd hasn’t seen her dad in 8 weeks .
will I need to go to court with dd dad first before a decision is made on my application for residency ? My solicitor is very good but very busy so trying to get a hold of her is an absolute nightmare so I feel quite in the dark about what is happening .
