Acas consulted and workplace declined.

Going to tribunal. Is there always a preliminary hearing?

Depends on the claim - if it's something straightforward (e.g. deduction from wages) there's often no preliminary hearing. More complex claims (especially discrimination) there usually is

Not always, no. It depends, if either party requests one, or if it’s a complex case that requires more than standard case management directions, then a PH would be held.
