Car issue

Almost brand new car was taken to service dept at local dealership as it did not start. They have had it for two weeks. They have said there is no courtesy car available. I have phoned many times for a service update. No one will tell me. The matter has been passed to a ‘manager’ who will not take or return my calls. I have been to the service centre but was told there was no information and that someone would call. They did not. I have contacted the complaints department but heard nothing back. I’ve posted this problem on their social media with no satisfactory result. The car is less than six months old, the cost was considerable (i realise this is subjective). Where do i stand? I seem to have no redress and have no idea what to do now. If anyone has had this problem i’d be pleased to gear from you

Next time you contact them, set a deadline and tell them that, if they fail to give you a satisfactory update on your car by then, you will reject it. If you reject it, they must give you a full refund less a deduction for the use you have had of the car.

If you haven't resolved by middle of week try writing to consumer champions at the guardian newspaper, they have sorted multiple issues for people I know, usually within hours of emailing.

You can report them to the motor ombudsman? I believe they will deal with cases like this if the car is less than £10000 and not on a finance deal.

Thank you for all the suggestions. Car is still in the service centre but they have now provided me with a courtesy car, apologies for boring yawny story
