I'm trying to promote a small business and wanting to offer giveaways as a way of increasing engagement. Legally, am I allowed to give away a free copy of a book without the author's permission? I have purchased the book myself so I've paid for it. Is it legally allowed for me to give it away as part of a competition? I'm really not sure on the laws around this and google isn't being helpful.
