Tenants in Common selling house?

Quick question - if several members of the same family own a house, with a Trust allotting it to them in various percentages, and one of them wants to sell but the others don't - what happens? I would appreciate any advice. 🙂

From https://www.netlawman.co.uk/ia/co-ownership-property:

'if one party wants out, then just as if the owners were joint tenants, the others must allow that, whether it is done through a sale of the whole property and all owners cashing out, one of the other owners buying out the share, or a non-owner buying that share.' In the joint tenancy section, it says that the owner that wants to sell can get a court order to force the sale if necessary.

Can the owners who don't want to sell buy the other one out?

Thanks for the quick reply and really useful link, @fairlygoodmother ! We're not at that stage yet, but currently all agreed that of course we'll sell it... just wondering what recourse there'd be if one of us dragged their feet, but from your link it looks like a court order.

I was just thinking of the poor lady on another thread recently whose sister was sitting tight in their deceased mother's house for 18 months, claiming she was 'too upset' to sell it yet...
