Finding out about magistrates court case result

Is there any way that I can find out about the outcome of a court case in a magistrates court? I was previously told that I could email the court with the details and they would tell me what the 'verdict' was because it was in an open court but they emailed back saying that due to data protection, they were unable to tell me. The person (defendant) was arrested on criminal charges but I have an ongoing civil injunction case against him too so would my lawyer be able to find out especially as there is an upcoming civil court date pending? This man is not a DH or DP but someone in the same flats where I live but made all out lives hell with his criminal ways. We are all scared in case he comes back but we haven't seen him for around 10 days which is roughly when the magistrates court case was due to take place.

DW found out about MIL magistrates court hearing online, think it was a website called courtserve. You have to sign up for an account then search the court it was at. However, I'm not sure if it tells you all that much - we just needed to find out if it actually went ahead as it had been adjourned a few times and we lived miles away.
